A new professional networking site: Yahoo! Kickstart

I recently learned about Yahoo! Kickstart, a brand new professional networking site for college students and young professionals. It’s a little bit Facebook, a little bit LinkedIn, a little bit Doostang. I like the focus on young professionals and their needs and it was easy to set up a profile. So far the site is still in “preview” mode, so there aren’t many bells and whistles — or many other members. I’ve put up a profile, so feel free to connect to me and let me know what you think of the site!

Here is some more information from the Kickstart website:
.
Yahoo! Kickstart is a professional network with a distinct purpose: to connect college students, recent grads, professionals and alumni to discover internships and jobs, or get career advice and mentorship.
Just like there are many different careers and ways to begin them, there are many ways to benefit from Kickstart. You can browse profiles of employees at companies you’re interested in to learn about their backgrounds and how they got to where they are. You can also answer questions from students at your alma mater who have questions about different career options. You can reach out to all sorts of people and strike up a dialogue, and perhaps get an opportunity that way.
If you are an alum, Kickstart is a great way to source new hires, give back to your college, and re-connect with fellow alumni and past colleagues.
