Great post, Linds…been meaning to reply for days! I used to be sooo embarassed of my mom when she’d take my girlfriends and I to the produce market or for a hike near the beach instead of to the mall. Had I only known then how amazing she truly is, I wouldn’t be playing catch-up with her wise advice (and cooking tips) now that I live close to 3,000 miles away! She’s such an inspiration to me and I absolutely LOVE that I’m turning into her.

How nice that you can use your careers to bond. I’m currently in the same industry as my mother (but certainly not the same field) and it does make it easier to relate.

Great post – I have been known to listen to tapes while driving and I wonder what’s it doing to mykids – hopefully encouraging them to follow in my footsteps.

How interesting that this is a rising trend! My grandmother is a writer, my mother is a writer, and so am I, so there certainly seems to be evidence for this in my family!
