It's so important to know who you will be interviewing with. You can tell a lot about someone after reading their profile. Also, linkedin.com is a great way to find out about people's careers. If you type in a company name like the "Gap" you will see all of the most recent hires, promotions, hottest profiles, and then statistics on the type of people at the gap and companies they came from and where they usually move on to after they leave the gap. I am a career coach and I love using linkedin for networking because it's a great way to stay in touch without having to build or nurture relationships all the time. Once you are in someone's linked in, they are willing to help you and stay in touch even if it's only once a year.
