Personal Branding Blog

Dan SchawbelA big, big thanks to Dan Schawbel of Personal Branding Blog for writing a great post today about my book, Getting from College to Career. Dan’s blog is an amazing resource for anyone interested in standing out from the crowd in your career. He writes thoughtful, action-oriented posts and also practices what he preaches — he reached out to me and has been a generous and helpful contact.

One of my favorites posts by Dan is about branding yourself when your name is difficult for people to spell. I’ve been struggling with that my whole career and I love that Dan wrote about it.

@ Tiffany – Thanks for the comment. You were smart to give your blog a name that is easy to spell!

@ Miriam – I know! My first and last names are both difficult too. I own a few versions of my name and also include all of the various spellings on my website so people can find me even if they don’t know the spelling. To add to the challenges, there is another Lindsey Pollak (I believe she spells it Lindsay Pollock) who is a writer too! I promise I will always spell your name carefully.

Thanks for the compliments on my book and blog — I really appreciate it!

Great review! Thanks for the tip to that article. . .as you can imagine, I have similar issues with my name!

    Lindsey,
It’s tough when BOTH of your names are typically misspelled. That makes 6 domains for you to own if you follow Dan’s suggestion! I also read and enjoyed your book. Your writing style is accessible and the advice is (as an Australian client says) “spot on.” I recommend it to any young people whom I advise.

I especially like your new website and blog design with the additional content! One of your essays reminded me a lot of my own life, so I feel a special cyberspace bond!

    All the best,
    Miriam Salpeter
