The news is full of stories about the dangers of having an inappropriate presence on Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and other social networks (read my favorite horror story at Gradspot.com). If you’re looking for a job or trying to get promoted, should you just delete your online profiles altogether?

Thanks for offering a different perspective. As the Millennial generation begins to move into managerial roles, it will be interesting to see how social networking develops.

I’ve read quite a lot about this recently and i find it really irritating. It’s almost like an invasion of privacy but then you choose to make your details public so it can’t be. Facebook seemed to have addressed the problem by only allowing confirmed friends to view each others profiles.
As far as i’m concerned people can be or do whatever they like in their own time, as long as they perform at work.
