Many listeners shared upsetting stories of layoffs and difficulty landing new jobs, and many also offered suggestions on what companies and industries are still hiring. We discussed opportunities in healthcare, education, accounting, trucking, energy, defense and more. Listen to the full program here.

We also talked about the fact that job hunters today have to cast a very wide net in their jobs searches. To that end, here are several recent articles that offer an abundance of suggestions, resources and opportunities:

Our Internet connection wasn’t working because of a thunderstorm, so I dug into my ever-growing stack of magazines and newspapers. Here are a few articles I came across that I recommend for career-minded Millennials…

Vacations are good for you, medically speaking – Why all employees should take their full allotment of vacation days (from The New York Times)

A primer for young people starting their first job – Advice and resources for young people making decisions about such employment benefits as health insurance and 401(k)s (from The New York Times)

See you at reunion. Or maybe not. – An interesting piece on whether social networking sites like Facebook will make college reunions obsolete. Would love to know what you think (from Newsweek)

Happy reading!
