I’m a big fan of the Forté Foundation and love the programs they offer for young women interested in business careers. Forté has recently announced their fall lineup of MBA forums — free events to learn about what an MBA can do for you. Here’s more from Forté:
Attend a Forté Forum in the city nearest you and learn about exciting careers in business, network with successful women business leaders, and find out how the MBA degree can open doors and present opportunities you never knew existed. Whether you’re interested in advancing within your current industry, switching careers, or starting your own venture, the Forté Forum can put you on the path to professional fulfillment.

Okay slight exaggeration, BUT, entering in my 10 digit phone number and using my index fingerprint to get through the turnstile is pretty high tech for a quick sweat. And this is just a regular 24 Hour Fitness Center… not ultra, not even sport.
I spoke at a recent Forte Foundation event in NYC – thanks to Lindsey for referring me! I had a great group of women in my workshop on defining the ideal career path. They were savvy and engaged in the session and had lots of great things to say about the conference. I’ve found out since then that Forte also gets involved in creating career guides such as the recently published Survival Guide for Women in Business. Thanks for getting the word out about Forte Lindsey! It offers so many great resources for women MBAs.
@T – So glad you’ll be checking out the SF event – let me know what you think!

This sounds like a wonderful way to educate women and give them a chance to discuss their MBA options. I am constantly changing my mind about what to focus on studying in the future, but with events like this I can learn about diverse programs and what they offer. Thanks for the tip, just signed up for the forum in San Francisco.
[...] – Business schools are bummed that their ranks are only about 30% women — compared with 47% women in law school — and accordingly are trying innovative ways to get women in, like giving them seven years to finish an MBA and having early AM classes (as opposed to evening classes) in their part-time programs. Sounds great except the program is becoming known as “The Mommy MBA.” Hmmn.
